Bibliometric analysis of knowledge management: a mapping of scientific production in the period 2012-2017

Resumen

The objective of this work was to map the international scientific production on Knowledge Management (KM) in one of the main databases, the Web of Science, in the temporal cut between the years 2012 and 2017, identifying the main articles on the subject in question in the Global Citation Score. A bibliometric study was anchored in the laws of Bradford, of Lotka and in the law of Zipf. The Web of Science database was used, and data processing was done in the Histcite (TM) software. The results showed that: the main studies on KM are predominantly associated to the discipline’s tactical processes; are focused on the economic performance that the model can provide for organizations; and bring the perspective that KM can be made feasible if the infrastructure, culture, individual behavior of the people, the role of innovation-led leaders, and the practices and processes of knowledge are aligned with business strategies.
